I think the guy is just an excentric, its too fancy for a `domsday pit`,... as aready said not a place to share with others, he just has the money and wants to spend it.

I am not sure why the nieghbores are upset, I could understand it if he was building four floors up, but by going down its all hidden,..and it wouldnt take too long to dig out,.. although after saying that if I lived next door I would want to see the survey report
