Interesting article. It seems that it doesn't kill bacteria so your cooking needs to do that. So I suspect that not all food irradiated will last forever. Just those that are cooked, sealed and then irradiated which must cover almost everthing we need with nitrogen or argon gas getting the rest.

Certainly something worth looking into.
