Lots of things go in and out of Newcastle heliport - and there is a lot more travel from ships to land on helis than you would imagine.

Where I live, it one of the military low fly routes, does not seem to get used an awful lot for training, but is used for ops. Us now having the Apaches means we will be out playing in them.
Now, as for Heli's spying on people, yeah, it happens, it is usually the cops in summer looking for people growing weed and women naked sunbathing in their back gardens.
