How long would you want to survive?

I was thinking more like an event that left the world in such a state that there was very little quality of life.

We prepare so that we can continue to have a quality life. If it's a living hell then we've got it wrong. Even if I wasn't enjoying it myself, I'd still want to be around to help my family for as long as possible.
