caring for your fellow man only goes so far....people have to try and make there own way not just sit back....and yes if people are fool enough to ignore/fail to grasp there plight and do something about it all bets are off.......am a socialist in respect of I don't want to see beggars on the streets , pensioners going cold and hungry but I don't want a nanny state mollycoddling people and tempting them to base a lifestyle on handouts.....state should catch you when you fall but that's it....enough support to not die of hunger/disease or exposure.
I have been a net contributor all my life so it's my money there divvying out....me and mine have never had a major illness never used legal aid was on the dole for a few months as a teenager , never had any of the benefits available with the exception of child benefit , two of my three kids were/are privately educated and I still believe in compassion for my fellow man when there down , my only proviso is they try to get back up and they keep trying.
Nothing is fool proof for a sufficiently talented fool!!!!
