If there had not been so much promotion of this event then I feel that the turnout would have been even lower giving less credence to the result.
But the turn out for voting in this election was the highest level of turn out in nearly 20 years.
There will always be those that are away from home working, have been delayed on the way home from work, may be away on holiday (it was a 4 day week and plenty of people were down here in the SW on Holiday) etc etc, so you are never going to get everyone voting.
But I'd be interested to know how many simply chose not to vote, rather than those who were unable to vote for one reason or another.
