Churchill during ww2 started a programme in Cornwall to see if Britain could grow its own tea, the . Problem is it takes five years before it can be first harvested , as the program started in 1942 the war was over but it was harvested and was successful. With rationing still in Britain until the mid 50's other foods took precedent , but tea was continued to be grown in Cornwall and still is .
