Personally I hadn't really thought about this too much, but it's definitely something I need to consider.

As far as people saying they wouldn't be interested in bonking because the would be too busy trying to survive, I guess that depends on what your willing to do to survive.

As far as I can see, this post started off about storing feminine bits and pieces for future use, then we went off into Chinese whispers. But, I guess bonking could be important as a part of rebuilding Society.

Part of the original question was who was going to be prepping for it, the men or the women, which is a good question, I am guessing that it is going to fall to the woman, as she knows more about what she needs.

.... but there are a lot of preppers on here, who are very dedicated, but their wives are not quiet behind them yet,... so guys,.. you are going to have to think about this yourselves,..secretly if you have to.

Sex has become part of the thread, and is part of what was asked indirectly,... sex is always going to be a fact of life, no matter whats going on around about us, and having the right gear to be able to do it safely is going to be important as no-one is going to want to care for babies when so much of their lives is in turmoil.

..... and of course it is going to be ten time more important to women than men, men tend to follow their urges without thinking about the consequences,..which usually leaves the results of a good night in the arm of a woman for the next `x` number of years,...

BP,.. you asked, ` what the heck has bonking got to do with surviving or survival`?... well the answer is everything, its no good thinking of just our survival, but the survival of our kids too,..and sex is going to be a big part of that,......so, the whole question of how to prep for this is as important as any part of prepping.

I thought you was getting at using sex for bartering or 'you can sleep with me instead of killing me or stealing all my stuff' etc not about procreation ?

for the really dedicated women preppers I think a contraceptive implant is a good option, they only last 3 years but that's 3 years of not worrying about getting pregnant and I'm told it helps a lot reduce the severity of periods. Not for everyone though.

We store women's sanitary products but no condoms as yet, something we hadn't thought about

well, thats where we differ Highlander, i dont have kids, never wanted kids, so for me Survival is about me and OH. and that is where it stops.

The implant is the best solution but what happens when TSHTF jut before it is due for replacement, You can get one and put aside if your do will allow it. My daughter has one due to a mix up. It lasts a few years.

You can buy washable sanitary items and baby nappies etc. which will last years so these are not really an issue.

Contraceptives will be after the implants and pills run out. We will be back to he old wives potions and bonking by the tides.
