RE: CALLING ALL NEWBIES and WANNABIES
I've just started to put my first bag together with sort of survival/defence in mind if that makes sense as I don't have much intention to bug out with my family(misses,4yr old son,2large dogs 2 cats) so I'm more for bugging in and gathering what's needed. With that in mind knife sharpening target practice with the crossbow and reading and taking in as much info as I can from you all is top of my list whilst money's a bit tight.

RE: CALLING ALL NEWBIES and WANNABIES
Good post SS.

It's posts like this that really make me think....damn I know so little and have a long way to go!

These kind of posts are encouraging and keep the mind focussed on what we really need to be doing. If we have a plan (not a necessity, but makes shopping easier....pay attention BeardyMan haha...instead of spending every penny on weaponry....we're all guilty of that at some point, especially me) then this post will help redirect our thinking and thus our actions.

It's like in the gym, when you get neophytes that are there for their first time, their enthusiasm kicks the older guys butts into actually training hard and enjoying it again. The same is true with the forum, it's the noobs that encourage the 'experts' to get out and practice more. There are those that just vanish and you realise they've been out and about for a week or so, but there are others that sometimes need a butt kicking to get up, out, and into the wilderness, not just a mile from home.

To all the noobs and inexperienced, keep the questions coming, ask as much as you can, and realise that you're helping EVERYONE on this forum grow, simply by challenging the status quo. Get the ol'dogs up and out of their armchairs and trying out new skills or reminding them of old ones.

Winging it is a plan. Just a constantly evolving one.

I still want to be a wallaby.

A major part of survival is invisibility.

The man who says he knows it all probably knows nothing. Im always learning, every time I think I have a plan together something changes.

There is always room for more knowledge. Knowing everything means you have limited requirements. When they change you find you don't know enough for your new situation.
