RE: Build a Bug Out Bag
I have one very similar in 1L size which I use for an outdoor wash basin and field sink.
My food bowl is a 450ml stainless rice bowl which nests inside the Seagull mess kit:

RE: Build a Bug Out Bag
Its only a dog bowl by name.
If I remember a past thread and your view on dogs and shtf well that dog bowl would be pointless anyway lol.
I can't find 80% of my kit I been looking through old storage and I have a lot missing, I do feel my kids and there mates have lost a lot of it on camping trips, my gear seemed to be what everyone used.
I am little annoyed.

RE: Build a Bug Out Bag
I love dogs, HATE CATS, couldnt eat a whole dog in one session though, We have a Border terrier that thinks its a Were Terrier. My issues with domestic pets is thus, If we have a major SHTF situation and we lose power then we also lose water, gas, sewage, lighting and refrigeration, so unless we maintain insanely high levels of hygiene in our homes we will almost certainly be taken down by diseases. One of those steps MUST be not having dogs or cats wandering around outdoors stepping in god knows what, scoffing infected carrion then coming home to jump all over the house, licking people, walking on worktops etc.
So Kitty and FIDO really should be confined to the outdoors during the crisis.

REMEMBER a DOG or Cat is not just for Christmas, if you are careful the cold cuts will last until new year

Definitely need to stock check, in the process of doing so now.
I posted my dog harry "in wrong thread" I agree with your view point dog over human and the hygiene but I do love harry lol, he would make a nice hat and glove though hmmm.
