@Bp I've heard of shaking hands when you meet someone but shaking your... At them when you meet I think I'll pass personally I'd prefer somewhere a little more fertile after all tight wet dark places are more fertile than your hand even a seed knows that :p

Joking aside I think paganism has alot we can learn from as I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) that most rituals had to do with the position of the sun and/or moon the summer/winter solstice (half way through winter so its going to start getting gradually warmer so your over the worst), full moon (a way of keeping track of the months and therefore how long until you can plant x, y, z), mayday is one too I think and then they believe in working with nature not against it so using natural remeadies etc so I think even if we don't believe in it there are things to be learnt from it.

the ancient Britons used to go into battle NAKED..that would put the hebegebees on anyone!! you are right about the ceremonies, all to do with nature and time of year.

I don't mean to drag this out and cause arguments but I think some people don't quite understand what the term "pagan" means. Pagan or paganism in itself isn't a religion, it isnt anything other than a term that can be attached to a multitude of non-abrahamic faiths but these days it is generally linked to any number of rehashed and/or recently invented beliefs and also to some genuinely older beliefs. What it isn't is a term for nature worship, although some pagans do so many other pagans dont.

Anyway, my point wasnt to define what a pagan is or isnt but more to point out that in a shtf situation, in my (humble ) opinion, I would question the judgement of someone who as an adult believes in what i would describe as fairy tales. So taking their belief in religion/fairytales into account I would not want to potentially trust them with my life.

No wonder I have trouble finding a suitable group - no religious nuts, no sheep, no chavs, no socialists, no......
