Had a go at making my own charcoal this weekend, in preperation for a bit of back garden black smithing with my youngest lad, he's dead keen to bash some hot metal, may even have ago at knife making Dave Budd style.

vacuum sealed 85 kg of dry foods (rice, oats, beans and the like) with o2 absorbers. I've made a little widget to go in-between the gaskets of my vacuum sealer so I can vacuum seal any kind of bag. I'm using professional heavy duty food bags made for delis and the like.
I've refreshed all my water over the last couple of days in prep for winter.
I've also been planning to add more meat to my stocks over the next month or so I'll be getting in more Matteson's smoked sausage, tinned steak and kidney pudding, goblin beef stew, tuna in 80g packs of 3.
Do not rush to meet Death, he may not wish to see you.

over the weekend I made a start at reorganising the shed in a view to move some stuff from under the stairs ready to make some more shelving and storage for the slowly increasing food stocks
There should be room in the shed too for food to if in sealed plastic boxes should be secure enough as I built it myself. 2x3 frame with and innner skin of 12mm ply and and outer skin of 12mm ply with 18mm shiplap on top, rock wool insulation in between. Made the door out of 18mm gravel board on a frame for the same stuff.
