just turn the gun up or down depending on which you have and what lock your working on

ah but the locks your hacking dictate the gun you need, certain locks are supposed to be more common depending on if your in england or america but i cant rember if its up or down for which one. i suppose the easiest way to do it would be pick the gun that will work on your own stuff but practice using it the other way up to.

however i would argue against a gun and stick with a set of picks instead.
