Brexit will you be increasing your prepping?

RE: Brexit will you be increasing your prepping?
You are listening to way too much media propaganda SS.

There is a percentage of our population that will always be on food stamps. They always have been and they always will be. There is also a portion of our population that is not just unemployed, they are unemployable. Not working is their career choice. Almost 1/3 of our secondary school students make the choice to walk away from a free education every year and generally eliminate themselves from the labor force.

Student loans for college are a choice, not a necessity, and they have very liberal repayment terms when they are used. Fact is, there are caps on how much one can borrow just to insure the loans are repayable. The hundreds of thousands of dollar debts you hear about are for those that chose to be professional students, borrowed the max for years, then dropped out of law school or medical school, majored in areas like are history or psychology, where the pay would never support them, then defaulted on the loans and amassed decades of interest and penalties.

Staying in a dead end job when you have a degree is also a choice. There are good paying jobs going unfilled in my area.

Did I mention that unemployment was back to pre-recession levels and pay was above those levels. I had a whole host of friends graduating sons and daughters just this past month and to a number they were all fully employed in their fields before graduating. My son graduates next semester and has a contract fixed for two years from now when he exits grad school. His employer is picking up his grad school costs.

Once again, success is directly related to effort and preparation.

And when you hear about 97 million Americans being out of the work force take into consideration that they are counting all persons over 18 even if they are in school, disabled or over age 65 and on pension. Us retirees are becoming a larger and larger part of the population, so if they are counting us they better reevaluate their numbers. Both sides of our political spectrum use the numbers to meet their needs.

The price of medical insurance is due to government interference. I had good coverage at a reasonable rate before the socialists "fixed" the medical system for us. I am out of that system now so I will leave it to the younger generation to fix that problem.

Now that we have that cleared up what do you propose as the answer to the real or imagined problems? You are not going to fix them.

If you did someone would come along and mess them up again. And there is that situation where if you fixed them to your notion there would be the 99% of the population that came with torches and pitch forks to burn you at the stake.

Discussion of opinions is fine, do that. As I said earlier, I have been watching the opinions being discussed by the doom-sayers since the Cuban Missile Crisis and not a single opinion has been proven worth the time it takes to listen. No one here has come up with anything I have nor heard decades in the past.

As you mention MB thanks for clearing that up...i am now much happier and looking to the future full of confidence....and doom and gloom has all but totally evaporated ....do i have answers or cures to put things to rights....no....do i have any meaningful well thought out suggestions ....no not really ...but do you...i guess not if you think everything is wonderful and needs no fixing at all.....now onto more pressing pursuits ....i have now ditched the 2" x 6" four post frame to house the winch assembly ....it just looked plain silly plus you could only use in fine weather, after much thought and many drawings ....i had a brake through about 3.45 am....get this....i propose the driver seat be attached to a telescopic rack and pinion set up ( i know..... i'm a f--king genius ) as you open the door this activates the seat release mechanism ...out it glides , on you get and the counter balance which now fills to trunk winds back up and you glide straight in and the door shuts on auto close....bugger...the two grand kids just arrived will have to run up the plans later.....later dude .

I am with MB on this one.

The globalist dominated media spends billions of dollars to convince the masses that there is no such thing as a conspiracy theory. Despite some governmental incompetence, the government loves and protects its people. And the globalists are being somewhat effective.

If you disagree with the establishment media, no matter how well documented your position is, that your audience frequently responds with “you must be one of these conspiracy theorists.” Facts are rarely attacked because they are accurate, but the idea of the existence of any kind of conspiracy is what is challenged.

Fake news and intentional disinformation which is fed by Iran, the DPRK and Russia to the media is brilliant and effective. In the war of words the jury is still out, but the unmistakable conclusion is that ideological battle lines for the upcoming conflict to undermine Western civilization have been drawn clearly and forced political correctness is the weapon.

Globalists sell the sheep the notion that we have to control you to protect you (from a threat of our creation), and the other side is saying, “we will take our chances, give us freedom.”

The US Dollar will only collapse if the petro dollar/opec collapses (why do you think Trump has been in Saudi recently, making sure it's still nice and secure), and if that backing falters then there is the US military to back it up, Nixon saw to that in the 1970s. It's also not in China's interests to see the US Dollar collapse as the US owe them trillions in dollars, and in that event, would be paying them back less than they borrowed.

Trump is supposodly trying to bring the US back to a manufacturing based economy (America First) and good luck to him, but I can't see that being an easy task.

Manufacturing based economy? Nope, way too late for that unless Americans are prepared to work for a very very low wage...China has the factories now and a work force who work for not a lot.

Well guys i really do appreciate your replies ...and your opinions and views its of worth you take time to reply (this is not a slight or sarcastic remark) you are just as much entitled as anyone else to respond to any topic that warrants your time to reply, over my lifetime i have arrived to a point that what pisses people off the most is when they do not agree with your given view ....this is fine....quite normal really...YOU / ME think we have the correct version of right.......somewhere within that realm we will discover truth because that is the only place it can and does reside .....so seek it out....could be nothing....could be everything.

You're quite correct SS. We're all entitled to our opinions. As MB pointed out, the world is cyclic, although not just within a human lifetime, but through whole civilisations throughout human history. The brexit thing is nothing new, just another independance movement against a corrupt and entrenched elite. The OP question will I be increasing my preps because of it? No not at this time as I don't have the capacity to increase any more yet. What worries me more though is a cashless society where the purchase of certain items are limited ie food stocks. I read your posts with interest and admire the steps you have taken to move beyond that stage, and it is my aim to do a similar thing in the future.

What would be worse than Brexit for the British is a Jeremy Corbyn win.
