Not having anything that I can test for than and not being clear on if the sizes will change I went for a sealed box. One like on the garage forecourts. No holeds. Lined with polystyrene and individual parts wrapped in cooking foil. Better safe than sorry. Get lots of kit in that as well.

I did an experiment with my old microwave casing.
Our two phones (different networks), pmr, and HH CB all try to react when a strong signal is near them so I'm not sure how to proceed now.

Something is getting through and it is what is out there now/
An EMP will eat them for breakfast I'm thinking.

I'm on the look out for some large mylar or static proof zip lock bags to pop things in before they go into the old microwave casing. Anyone got a source for such an item?
As for the ECU for the vehicles.
I've got a spare ones for both BUT I'm not disturbing the ones fitted to try them working on the principle of "If it's not broken, don't fix it".
Add my nice old nice old ammo tin, loads of tin foil, and plastic packing chips, I'm hoping that that will work.

Just a point though. Some "experts" say earth the box, some say don't. Which is it?
I've tired both and the CB still goes off in the microwave.

If its got holes in it just glue bacofoil over the holes. and no my cell wont recieve bugger all when its in the microwave, Remember chaps and chapesses you dont need a working microwave, you can even remove the old magnatron to save a bit of weight. Some guy called Phil from London used an old pizza oven in the same way.

You can get Mylar bags from the fleabay, its much better to buy a lockable steel box for 20 quid odd and line it, then put your gear in the Mylar bag and then into your box.

The problem is the extreme weather patterns, earthquakes and then volcanoes that a pole shift can cause before the final movement of the earths crust, also called crust displacement. Then throw in the reason or reasons that can cause this to happen, there are many referencies to the Mayan calendar, they measured their years at something like 365.4.2 days long, (now I havent got that exact), a system the world still uses to this day. Now if you think how the Mayan calendar has been able to predict all the solar eclipses and various other stuff to the second to this day, then you must give them credit. They also left writings referring to another planet in our solar system which has been called various names like Nibiru, Planet X and so on. This planet is on a 3600 year elongated orbit which if true will bring it between the Sun and the Earth on yes you guessed it December the 21/2012. The magnetic pull from the size of this thing if true could pull our poles out of line and sort off switch things around. As this planet approaches preceeding it we will suppose to have extreme weather, earthquakes and all sorts of things. I could go on and on guys but I dont want to scare or piss anyone off, but will give anyone more info if the want.

The whole point of this site is to share thoughts and info like this... to be prepared so we don't have to be scared. People can choose to believe it or not.
I believe the Maya predictions are going to be correct... just that it is not the end of the world as they don't say that, they just say about the alignment... which may well cause dramatic weather changes. polar shift??? well maybe I watched a documentary where they were testing earth samples way down and there is evidence that there was a polar shift once before... however they think it happened over about 10,000 years

RE: dec 2012
The poles used to have a direct vertical alignment, and not the tilt they currently have. So a polar shift will not be TEOTWAWKI. Imagine that, people freaking out and then suddenly....we're rotating at an angle. Yes earthquakes, volcanos and all that, but we're not all dead, and there was no massed die-off, as far as I know.

I think the 2012 prophecy could happen, but not in the way the hysterical nutters say. It's like a calendar. Just because your annual calendar ends at December, it just means a new cycle will start, same as the Mayan calendar will. The last few times the mayan calendar ended, it just started again, from day 1. There is no reason this cycle will be any different.

The alignment will be the issue. But like the last few times the calendar ended (with the alignment) nothing much happened.
I believe there will be changes to weather, maybe volcanic activity, earthquakes, and the alike. But not TEOTWAWKI. Maybe just a few months of repolarising, crazy weather, and the alike.

RE: dec 2012
The liquid mass of the polar ice caps is little more than a drop of water in a bath tub. The problem would be the increase in volume of the current water in the oceans; because water expands when it warms up. Just a few degrees of temp increase could see ocean levels rise by a good few meters (geography books are useful for something). The best way to deal with this, don't live on a low lying area.

A secondary issue with the ice caps would be the amount of fresh water in the system, throwing off the north atlantic current. Having said that, if the poles are shifting, then that would be thrown off anyway. So the ice caps don't really effect that much more than would already be going on.

Waterlevels were probably something you thought about when deciding where to live. Same as being a reasonable enough distance inland to absorb a pretty big wave. But I can be certain, if you've not looked into that, it'll definitely be something you should look into, for so many reasons, not just 21/12/2012.

I wish I had a defined answer as to what to do. Best thing I can say "Stock up, sit tight, and hope for the best." There will always be another apocalypse. There was the 9Sept1999 Nostradamus crap, then the millennium bug, now the 21Dec2012. If nothing happens, then there will be another apocalypse/prophecy/prediction.

There is a pub called "The Worlds End Pub" I plan on being in there for the 2012 prophecy, just for the sheer irony of it. Anyway, it's pretty close to home, a few miles off, so it's a pretty good idea to be there, haha.
As for the volcanic activity and earthquakes that may affect the sea levels, they will be temporary, same as the tsunami and most other volcanic activity. Again, the scale they have, as of current, wouldn't have any effect on the water levels. Imagine how big a volcano, or even 10 volcanos would have to be, if they were to equal a land mass the size of the UK!!! Even the UK isn't big enough to permanently rise water levels much more than a few inches (at most).

The Maldives would vanish, and part of the Cook Islands, but the UK would be very much untouched.

RE: dec 2012
the earth at its equator bulges by approx 7 miles mainly sea water..centrifugal force.. holds it, as the earth spins ,if a pole shift takes place , all that water got to find the (new equator) by how many degrees of shift..... a lot of water bloody huge wave BUT i hope you are right and i am wrong.....got old innertube in shed just in case though
wifey just said its hers ..... good job i can swim

The poles are cold because of the angle of the Earth to the sun. A polar shift doesn't mean a shift of the actual poles but a shift of the magnetic poles. Thus the Nth pole may be in London or something. There will not be any melting. Now the earth my realign with the sun but that will take a very long time due to the earths mass.

Again, the earth will not suddenly shift but the magnetic poles. If it was a shift of the earth that suddenly then the earthquakes, volcanos, tsunamis, etc. would wipe us out.
