Wales is out, down South is definitely out, West Midlands Nope. North?? Too damn cold.
SWMBO was even thinking of emigrating but no one will have us. Something about being British.

Don't like the idea of the US, Thailand is appealing but SWMBO don't like bugs.
I can swear in 5 languages, the SWMBO in three if you count pure Dorset.
So looking for English speaking countries. That rules Londonstan out.

Is the Isle of Man very self-sufficient ?

TBH - some of the nordic countries would be my area of interest given the choice...

COLD ? - mostly.
SAFE ECO SYSTEM ?- yes,by law, so food shouldn't be a problem.
PEOPLE ? - apart from the mad crusader dude , they seem friendly enough.
