I'd advise any city-dweller to look at the inland waterways as one possible escape route.Bargain boats exist.Don't be discouraged by the conspicuous wealth one sees displayed on the canals nowadays.Small yachts(seriously)are an even cheaper option than most inland craft.An 18 foot £1000(or less)yacht opens up the entire Thames Estuary and East Coast rivers.Sky's the limit.Londonistan today,Farne Islands tomorrow.
Suburban neighbours= stranger- danger.
