RE: Britains debt time bomb
I wouldn't mind but like so many people on here I have always worked hard and done what was right....yet we are all paying for the fat cat's mistakes.

They are still rich and we are getting drained of blood. It says something about this country when private companies can level taxes on citizens with the consent of its Government.

Anyone see the worlds worst countries for tax in the Sun. Yes you guessed it the uk is the highest taxed country in the world. Taking all sleath taxes, fuel duty council tax etc. After the tax free allowence we pay £0.73 pence in the pound on taxes. No wonder we cant ot dont have any spare money to spend.

N.R sometimes I think that it would just be easier to stop fighting and just stop working and let my family live on benefits....Then I remember, that isn't even an option open to me.

RE: Britains debt time bomb
We waited 19 years before we decided we could just afford to start a family ( we wanted three but could only afford one so unlike the chavs infesting the UK we stuck with one) Anyway after spoilt brat was born MRS NR went back to work cos she earned more than me, we had no other family to help us with childcare so I gave up my job to take care of spoilt brat.

We used our lifes savings to tide us through the formative years, it lasted a little of 3 1/2 years before every penny we had was used up. At this point we decided it was time I claimed back some of the tens of thousands of pound in tax I have paid since starting work in 1972.

Toodles off to Job center as says please can I have some JCS and help finding work because we need money to feed our child, the reply from the Job Center was " No Sorry Mr NR you have not paid any NI in the last 2 years so you are not entitled to anything"

But what about all the taxes Ive paid since 72 I asked " Doesnt matter it doesnt count sez the burocrat"

How do I feed my family I asked ? " Try a charity" was the reply.

The Gentleman in the chair to my left had just been released from Home House prison where he was held for the weekend, He was at the dole office to claim his automatic £170 release allowance, and the chap n the right was claiming extra money for his aged parents who now lived with him after recently arriving from India.

First time I have ever cried since I was a child, and the same moment I decided the only good socialist was a dead one.

I can't believe how comfortable I feel when I say to people 'Sorry I can't afford to do that'! Once upon a time I would have died of shame saying it.

Seal driver, BTW dont expect SSAFA or any of the military charities to help either, they are almost an officers only setup, or a regimental tie club.

When I left the Forces I had a similar experience trying to get a job and some training, I was in a queue with ex convicts and illegal immigrants...they got what they wanted, but I wasn't entitled to anything....I went off to the temp agency and worked packaging bananas and sweeping the streets to pay my mortage and bills.

The reason there is nothing left for those who paid the most into the system is the parasitic benefit dwelling parasites who never do a days work but think they are entitled to everything.

To many breaks in my service was their excuse to me !!!, still managed to work my way from boy soldier to Sergeant but still not worthy of their help.

Likewise mon ami, apparently I'm only good enough to pay for the system but not good enough to benefit from it.
