RE: Cold Weather Coming
With all this water saturating the area, has anyone got an idea of the damage it will cause to the ground? I think it could well screw the roots of a few plants that are capable of dealing with a milder winter.

You better get used to it Tarrel as they cottages up there get mighty cold at this time of year, I cant see anything out of the ordinary though as I have seen it get down to -20 to -25 for a couple of weeks at a time up here. The worst thing is the freezing fog or mist thats a real bastard. I always know when it gets down to -10 or lower cos anytime I try and sniff my snotters instantly freeze up, lovely.Confused

Today, the frost didn't clear on anything not hit by the sun.

Max temp the wife saw down in Cornwall at work today, was 4 degrees. According to my car, it didn't pop over 2 degrees where we live!

If the frost stays, that usually means the air temp is zero.

Right now, the temperature is -3 degrees!!! NICE.

Doesn't bother me. Actually, I prefer cold and dry to warm and wet. Burning through plenty of wood on the stove though!Undecided
