RE: Pandemic
If an 'emergency' is declared they have the right to commandeer not just the contents of the supermarkets and shops, but also everyone who works to maintain them. Supermarkets work on a 'just in time' basis and the government cannot afford to risk of civil riot if food becomes unavailable .. perhaps because 60% of the truck drivers are sick or dead. What happened when the rubbish disposal truck frivers went on strike ? What happened when the firemen went on strike ?. Life has to go on .. or the government falls.
"dont expect the govt to come running to the rescue like the 7th Cavalry cos it aint gonna happen! "
The government are the ones you should worry about !

RE: Pandemic
if 60% of the drivers are sick or dead there ARENT going to be any food deliveries, thats assuming there is any food to be delivered anyway, if there is a pandemic chances are all those container ships with the food on arent coming into port anyway!

RE: Pandemic
Not had a chance to look on your site yet. Pandemics are a big risk with us importing everything and everyone. I would try and stay in isolation, but if its airbourne were all buggered. If an outbreak occurs its more likly to be abroud. Cities like mumbi with a 30million population squeezed into an area half the size of london

RE: Pandemic
it would be anywhere there is international airports.
half the problem with diseases, is the fact people now travel from one side of the world to the other in a day
years ago it took months and diseases would be incubated on the boats.
that dont happen no more, its just hopp on a flight and carry it to another country. and spread it around for days before even knowing you were sick
if we were still on the boats and a pandemic broak out on the boat they would just refuse it dock
now you cant cos its already off the plane and travelled to every city close by in less than a day.

RE: Pandemic
thats exactly where it would hit the quickest
but ask a question, if we didnt have flight and international travel within a day,
how many pandemics would actually be globally dangerous instead of just limited to one country or close nit group of countries.
imagine the plague in todays times.
the flu from ww1 or whenever it was that killed loads, imagine if global international travel was arround then.
what do you think the death rate would have been.

RE: Pandemic
The chances of this government being able to conscript anyvbody is virtually zero.
The chavs would rather starve than lift a finger.
And unless your talking work or be shot...
Well that's a different type of government all together...
Greeces government has hired Blackwater merc's just in case because the greek military will side with civilians they have said as much.
Britains government wont it might hire local thugs with a power complex, they'd enforce the law for free...
Imagine your local knob heads with free reign to punish who they wanted...
I tried to be normal once.... Worst two minutes of my life...

RE: Pandemic
you underestimate the british unemployed.
they may not work and may not want to work,
but take the gov. out of the equation.
put them in teotwawki situation and i think youl find if they can survive the initial madness that outbreaks they would eventually get themselves organised.
british people have always had the ability to stick in and work together under hard times
and british people will always be hard workers, its in their genes. always has been.
its just the last few generations have gotten a bit sloppy and reckless.
theres nothing like a good shock to the system to get people working together.
loook around the world at the world disasters. new orleans etc.
people pull together out of fear and need.
britian is probably one of the most invaded islands in the world when you look throughout history.
british people were built to survive
obviously most of the chavs willl die off, but dont believe the figures and statistics in the news.
its all propaganda to make the workers hate the non workers.
a new class war, but left the ritch out
this time its workers against non workers, only difference between them is a job.
whilst the ritch sit there untouched and giving themselves bonuses.
oh poooooop ive ranted again, back off to my naughty corner.
