The Solo Stove
#1
I wonder if anyone's had the opportunity to try one of these backpacking, woodburning stoves? They look light and efficient and seem to take away the need to carry fuel. I'd be interested to know...

not used the solo but have used other wood burners in the past and yes they are easy to use and most are very efficient with fuel

why not make yourself a "hobo" stove out of a large tin??

its pretty easy really....first get your tin! OH bought me one in a charity shop for 50p but any clean tin will do, cut out a largeish square a few inches from the bottom with a pair of tin snips, drill a few holes around the bottom with either a drill or a bradawl or something sharp and pointy..this is for air flow....job done.
