RE: falklands war part 2
The Falklands conflict is a sore point in my household! I don't blame Margaret Thatcher for taking on the Argentinians, it was the right thing to do, but the losses were awful. OH was flying casevac during that campaign.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

I don't think their will be another war at the moment but if the oil and gas that have been found are in large amounts ....who knows.

no matter how many troops ect are stationed their keeping them fed and armed if it kicked off again wont be easy.

The Brits don't tend to get caught twice the same way...I'm sure there are lots of stores and munitions laid down on the island already but supplying the islands wouldn't be so difficult as we already have an airbridge established routed through Ascension islands , the Argentines have no long range aircraft to interdict the air traffic beyond the reach of the MPA based typhoons , there only aircraft with air to air re fuelling capabilities are A6's remaining from the time of the conflict , they have two tankers that aren't currently airworthy , there Sub's haven't been out to sea in a dog's age...without some serious external support were going nowhere unless we decide too.
Nothing is fool proof for a sufficiently talented fool!!!!

Serious external support for Argentina:

Don't discount the Chinese tech, they have after all hacked/stolen most of the US militaries weapons plans/blueprints:

It's easy to dismiss them as producers of cheap knock-offs, because so much cheap tat comes direct from China with the labels attached, but what you don't see is the really hi-tech stuff, that is made in China and sent as components to UK or USA, where some minimum-wage worker assembles it and puts a USA or UK sticker on it.

There is nothing we can build that the Chinese can't.

Childs play for them, and they'd have finished it in half the time.
