I think you'll start to see less on supermarket shelves, not empty shelves as such just less of everything on the shelves, as money becomes tighter and everything starts to slow down. maybe empty tanks in the filling stations one day a week or maybe longer queues.
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.

RE: What warning signs are you looking for?
A couple of points for me.

Many have been mentioned, but a few that I'm looking at:

1. Inflation to hit double digits, or very near to. As soon as the cooked numbers show that, then we're in DEEP trouble.
2. A run on 2 banks at the same time.
3. A stock-market 'all time high' while things are crashing everywhere else.
4. Petrol to reach £1.75 a litre.
5. Syria...obviously. But I have military friends to keep me up to date with that.
6. OPEC to have 'reconciliatory talks' to revise their position with the dollar.
7. QE4, and debt ceiling, check 15th October for the talks on that.
8. Royals to take a 'complete family' holiday.
9. People to be nicked for stealing basic foods, instead of the usual alcohol and DVD's.
10. Gold to have a day of growth over 10%.
11. Shortages of petrol.
12. Food to be less abundant on the shelves.
13. Prolonged Union strikes. Yes we've had loads, but seriously, strikes at a time of financial depression....not smart or good.
14. The news to start reporting that the UK now has tent cities. We do, but it's not widely reported.
15. Banks to call in their debts, e.g. credit cards, loans etc.
