RE: I like this article
It is a good and humane decent thing for man to want to help his fellow man if he is in need. BUT

NOT when it is Compulsory or Obligatory
and
Not if it endangers your OWN family / groups survival.

I admire, respect and compliment people who wish to see part of their own money/ earning etc used to help other more needy people such beneficence is good, but no such system should by absolute and compulsory.

Many socialists say it is only FAIR that wealthier person (A) should pay more tax than poorer person (B) into a fund to pay for welfare, medical care, social care etc, I do not consider that FAIR at all.

What is FAIR is those who USE a public service the most should PAY the MOST and those who use a public service the least or not at all should pay the least or not at all.

If I went to a restaurant with a couple of friends, they had a cheese sarney and a pint of bitter apiece and I had Steak and Bolinger then surely I should pay the most, but under the socialist system of fairness the guys who had the cheese sarney should not only pay for their meal but also half of the cost of my steak!!

So think about the Mutual Support Agreements, Cooperations, Prep Groups, Prepping Coops etc that very many of use seek to be a part of, if members 1 to 15 pay in £200 a month and turn up to train every weekend, whilst members 6 to 20 only pay in £20 a month and only turn up occasionally to help, then again using the socialist doctrine when TSHTF members 16 to 20 should get exactly the same share of supplies / food/ fuel etc as those who paid the most and put in the most effort.

And that is why I can never support socialism in any form so long as its COMPULSORY as it is when its applied to government, NHS or Welfare state.

If you put in then you can take out, if you don't put in then you get nothing out, and you cannot take out more than you put in, Surely that is FAIR.

Would you still have this fair mantra if junior was struck down and needed a transplant and ongoing therapy costing way beyond your mean's.....heaven forbid anything like that happening ....under your system you would become impoverished and he would still die.

Socialism is a great concept its just the way it's administered that is flawed, it's been used abused and hijacked by people and minorities with agenda's

That's what MEDICAL INSURANCE IS FOR Smile, If I was not forking out so much on tax like income tax, NI, VAT, Purchase tax, Stamp duty, fuel duty etc to piss away on a failed welfare system I would easily be able to afford good quality PRIVATE medical insurance, BUT even that would not ensure a transplant if an organ was not available.

I see that many lefties want to make organ harvesting legal by default, eg unless you say NO your organs will be harvested for reuse, I wonder how long before those same lefties want to adopt the policy of executing criminals and harvesting their organs for the great common good

Mo, under YOUR system everyone in the world would have a claim on transplants and care at our expense, OR do you suggest the rules only apply to the UK, but that would not be fair to our fellow EU member countries sick and needy?

Socialism in all forms known to man (A) Do not work and (B) are contrary to the fundamentals and basics of prepping if its COMPULSORY membership with no opt outs.

Socialism is a great THEORY like the theories of travelling faster than the speed of light, theoretically possible but unworkable in practice.

World wide socialism would obviously not work and would surely hasten the demise of the world... I think of my country and fellow countrymen as my extended family and you look after your own....I don't like multiculturalism I'd like to stop immigration or at least reduce it to a trickle , minorities have to go along with the consensus off opinion....putting it bluntly fit in or fuck off! with few exception's nobody asked them to come, cast the EU adrift as I think there a millstone round our neck , Childish naïve maybe but that's what I'd like.

Don't come here to freeload...stay and make your Country good.

if other people haven't prepped its not up to me to take up the short fall, that's their problem not mine.

I think the above comment is spot on, give just a little and it will be like opening the flood gates and potentially signing your own death warrant.

But in the pre-event situation, we have been there several times recently and I believe that Pensions and Health Care should be universally available to all, but all other welfare should be earned, no one should be allowed to stay at home or down the pub/coffee shop all day everyday, if they are claiming benefits, those benefits should be earned.

I read some where else about someone who said he would give away food to anyone who came knocking, but he wasn't stocking any extra food for this, his attitude was that maybe his 12 month supply would only last a month or two but he could live(more likely die!) with that, he couldn't understand why I called him an idiot for giving away his familys(yes he had a wife and kids) food and leaving them to starve once he'd given all their food away.

I think the NHS is the UK's jewel in the crown......but it's badly overused abused mismanaged and in danger of being broken up for the financial gain of a few cronies ,crooks, cheats and gangsters based in Westminster , it is a wonderful institution but with an ageing population , health tourism and an ever increasing plethora of new and wonderful treatments becoming available daily it's going to disappear up it's own butt hole.....then we'll be sorry.

I think the NHS COULD again be the jewel in the UKs crown, if they stuck to treating the sick and injured specifically, by that I mean
BRITISH CITIZENS, no health tourists from Eire, Europe, Nigeria, Kenya etc, No treatment for illegal immigrants only genuine refugees.

Stop doing stuff like Gender Reassignment, Boob jobs, Tattooo Removal, Fertility Treatment, Gastric banding etc. Just treat the sick and injured OUR sick and injured.

In all honesty I doubt if I could turn away a fellow prepper and his immediate family especially if I have been communicating with him for years, remembering I have been into survivalism / prepping since 1979. I would WANT to do whatever I could with in reason ( IE not putting my kids at risk) to help fellow preppers. But I would not help the general public most of whom even today can be found ridiculing anyone who sets stuff aside for a rainy day. I have no time for those in society with an entitlement mentality.
