I remember these two when they were just Middle class hippies slumming it and asking people for advice on low impact living via their forums.

Then they collected all the freely given advice and sold it for megabucks in their "Bible"...

You dont need to spend money on these things, you just need to keep your eyes open and know how to read or who to ask:
