Yes but that just promotes the slow collapse theory with the "reset button" being pressed only at long irregular intervals.

There was "reset 1" otherwise known as "get out of my garden" where perfection was replaced by mundane existence.

Then there was "reset 2". Known as the "Noah experience". We Americans refer to it as "How long can you tread water?"

I just wonder what God expected when he knocked everything back to a single pair, then a single nuclear family?

With all this inbreeding how can we expect a positive outcome?

I think a meltdown is inevitable. You cannot have infinite humanity on finite resources. Something has to give, and all the high tech trickery and wizardry isn't going to change anything in the long term.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

RE: Slow Collapse
Everything is in place ....and has been for the last twelve odd years imo .....it will not be a slow collapse ! When they pull the plug to reset it will be quick ....you will go to bed on Friday night ...then wake to a shit storm by Monday morning and there is nothing anyone can do about it ....nothing .....banks will not be open until they bail in all your money taking up to 70% of it in the first tranche ....pensions will be gone along with any social payments ...all the preparations we have made will come to front and centre ....even we will be in shock of the speed of events.....we will wonder how it could have come to this ....then focus on what we have learnt here on the forum and be glad we down loaded all the files, bought all the books , and bought all the foods ,seeds , tools , fuel , crossbows and bows ....arrows ........and realise it’s no longer having a chat to pals and like minded people ......it’s really here and it’s happening for REAL ......I wonder how we will cope ? .......we are going to need two or three years of gear just to stay in dodge let alone get out of it ......the end game is here folks ....or to be correct the planned endgame is upon us , we shall see what metal we are really made of , will we manage the horrors that will unfold ....who knows ? I have my doubts ...but who would not have some doubts ? The times are a changing .

RE: Slow Collapse
Nothing is that sudden SS. It could have been back in the Cold War days but not now. We are frogs slowly boiling in the pot of water on the fire. It might well be boiling already and we don't realize it because it was so slow.

If the stage has been set for the past 12 years that is not a sudden onset. That is a slow buildup and slide into the final little fart.

Almost all of what was once the free world is living today in the embrace of what can only be called a light form of martial law.

Every government now feels they have the right to tell people when and where they can go, who they can meet and how many can be in the room at the same time. We are also told what we can say and where it can be said, and to whom. While courts debate whether burkas can be prohibited at workplaces we are being required by the government to wear a face covering outside out home! There are real life penalties to the violation of any of these laws we have accepted to keep us safe and un-insulted.

"Health passports" are now a thing that is accepted as inevitable.

Shortages, empty shelves and fuel restrictions are so commonplace we do not see them as the SHTF we used to warn of. The government and their media spokespeople even cheerfully warn us to expect it as a happy expectation.

We don't have troops in the streets because there simply are not enough troops to offer good coverage. They are too expensive, we can't afford them.

Which brings up the only way we can really have a sudden SHTF situation. A sudden and unanticipated war. The west is over ripe for that.

RE: Slow Collapse
Well let’s go back to the early seventies then MB , when Nixon got rid of the gold standard that backed the USD and switched to oil to back the USD ........... my meaning when they pull the plug and it will be quick is what I believe to be the endgame....and they will choose the when, where, and how ....they already have worked out their preferred replacement system in a format that they will completely control , the only (time) will be how we learn to use the new system .

RE: Slow Collapse
SS if TPTB already have a new system worked out and in place to implement to their benefit then SHTF will not be a collapse of the system into anarchy but a replacement of one system for the other.

They can not afford a collapse, total loss of control, and anarchy. Only controllable panic and manageable disaster will suffice.

Since we are now living in a situation that we described and warned about as being SHTF a decade ago then we are living in SHTF and no one accepts it because we are still waiting with baited breath for the "complete breakdown".

We have a mentality that hangs onto the thought that "it could be worse" and until the worst happens we are not in SHTF.

We are already into our preps and using our long term survival planning and resources to make our present life livable and we have been for almost 2 years now, world wide.

Joe says his family has not been to a shop since the Covid began. All of us have self isolated several times in the past 18 months. Some was self imposed but much of it was mandated by the government, and we did it without real protest or resistance. We are hiding from the Golden Horde without there being a Golden Horde!

We are all now continuously replenishing our food preps because we are using them up rather than increasing our supplies. Because we can still replace those supplies from badly stocked shelves at ragged intervals, while wearing a mask and standing 2 meters separated, we feel that we are not in SHTF, even though we are living the life.

No we are not living in mud huts and killing songbirds with catapults, but we are now living a life we once warned about as part of the SHTF scenerio.

Many of the people here can tell us that they have had their own personal SHTF situations over the years. Sickness, unemployment, sudden unexpected expenses, natural tragedy. Those individual situations are generally ignored after a good pat on the back and an "attaboy". Good thing you had them old boy, restock them quickly, you might need them for real SHTF.

2 years ago almost the entire western world had its rude jolt and the economy basically shut down. And what have we worried about and warned of for decades? Why the economy shutting down of course!

So now we have empty shelves, broken supply chains, restrictions on movement, shortages of fuel, the population in a very carefully controlled panic mode. The world has been groomed into this carefully molded situation for 18 months, or longer.

Do we have to be living a 19th century lifestyle to have all the criterion of SHTF in operation, as it is now?

RE: Slow Collapse
A slow collapse is the M.O. for most Civilisations and they never see it coming. There have been a few notable exceptions to the rule,1-the Collapse of the Mexica, and 2, the destruction of the Kwarezmian Empire, by Cortez & Chingis Khan. This process of growth & inevitable decay is a fundamental law of physics called Entropy. Everything in this universe follows the same pattern of growth, maximum size, and then a slow decay. All these data can be shown on a simple Bell curve chart.
