You're best off working from home if you want to live somewhere very remote, but there is work near the towns where quite a few business parks have been build. Compared to the South East where I came from there is much less work.

Property is comparatively cheap, reflecting the job situation. I bought a 12 acre smallholding, detached house, outbuildings, barns etc etc for nearly the same price as my 3 bed semi in Kent.
